Deadliest Catch: The Game Kickstarter Campaign Announced

| | , ,

The Discovery Channel television show Deadliest Catch lends itself very well to the simulation game genre. A genre where releases have run the gamut from surgeons and mechanics to bread and goats. Now, Polish developer Moonlit Games is bringing Deadliest Catch to the table.

As a captain of your own fishing vessel, you will start at Dutch Harbor in the Bering Sea. There you will make all the decisions about your route and what equipment to bring aboard. Once you set sail and take full control of your vessel, the adventure truly begins. From preparing, setting, and collecting traps, to sorting your crabs and selling them at the port. Realism is what Moonlit Games has strived for.

The in-game world brings highly detailed and realistic vessels and equipment. In addition, advanced weather conditions change and affect the dynamic water physics in order will give the full experience of hunting for King Crab.

Deadliest Catch

Working alongside the Discovery Channel, Moonlit Games has taken every step to ensure the game would stand up to the name of Deadliest Catch.

The Kickstarter campaign, launching on June 7th, 2019, aims to bring a deeper level of immersion to the game. The main goal will be the addition of a crew management system that brings new mechanics to the all-in-one gameplay. The stretch-goals will have improvements to the game mechanics and features.

Set for a September 2019 release for PC, Deadliest Catch: The Game will scratch any itch you have for becoming a fishing captain.

    • That shouldn’t be an issue if Weather Factory bought the rights from Discovery, which I have to assume they have. The game is up for pre-order on Steam and everything so I think Discovery reps would have said something by now if there was a problem.
